Environmental Management Programme for the National Demonstration Wind Farm
Development of an Environmental Management Programme for the National Demonstration Wind Farm being constructed near Darling in the Western Cape.
The first four turbines of the National Demonstration Wind Farm are to be constructed on the slopes of Moedmaag Hill, approximately 12,2 km north west of Darling in the Western Cape Province. The project was first initiated by a private entrepreneur in 1996 but a wide variety of factors resulted in many delays in approval of the project. The Environmental Management Programme will be aimed at ensuring that all the necessary mitigatory actions are effectively implemented to ensure minimal impacts on the environment, particularly during the construction phase.
